Milestone

Milestone is the only service that has been specifically designed to monitor all of the key aspects relating to the performance of towns and cities.
It is designed so as to bring together the huge breadth of data relating to the fundamentals of town centre performance, and to present it in a cohesive and meaningful way.
Milestone encompasses data for each year from 2000 in five key areas for around 5,000 towns and cities across the UK:
- Economic Profile
- Property values
- Consumer demand
- Town centre provision
- Town centre quality
Data within Milestone is sourced from key public sector bodies such as the DCLG, NOMIS and the Valuation Office, but also from leading UK providers of data on towns and cities. These include GMap, Colliers CRE, Javelin and Retail Locations. All commercial datasets are to be updated on an annual basis.
Access to Milestone’s service is via a confidential login at www.milestoneuk.org. An annual user license offers a subscriber unlimited access to the service during the period of subscription, which is for the minimum period of a year.
Milestone’s Saved Reports
Milestone offers users the opportunity to create bespoke reports, and so tailor its output to meet a town or city’s specific requirements.
Users can select any dataset within each area - mixing and matching datasets where required - to compile a report that meets their particular reporting requirements. In addition, users can enter their own commentary and image or logo, further differentiating their reports from those produced by towns and cities elsewhere.
Milestone’s Saved Reports capability means that users can generate ad hoc reports on particular issues throughout the year, but also easily produce an annual performance review which is of a consistently high quality. Numerous Saved Reports can be created and stored, and reports can be saved in pdf file format.
